I had an adventure tonight.

Kading came into my room at 330 and asked if I wanted to spend my evening running valet for some rich guy's party. Sounded like a good enough idea at the time. It wasn't until I got into the car to leave that I realized how cold I would be standing outside from 4-10.

The beginning was simple. Open the door, give the ticket, park the car. I got to park some nice cars: a couple BMW's, a Benz, tons of SUV's and a Lexus. The Lexus was by far the scariest experience of my life.

We had reached the end of the very long street with all the cars we were parking. It came to a 'T' with another street that was to be the spillover. We could only park on the right side of this street. So I take my Lexus and turn right onto the street to pull a U turn and park further down. I assume the open area off the road is shoulder. It wasn't. It happened to be loosely packed snow. As soon as my tires hit it, the car was in.

I panicked.

My mind raced with ways I could blame it on the other drivers. "Uhh.. how did that Lexus get down there... illegally parked..and in the ditch?" I couldn't do that... I fessed up to the other guys and they all laughed at me. We waited until the guests were all inside and eating, then five of us went down to un-ditch it. It took nearly 15 minutes.

In the end, I learned a very valuable lesson from this experience. Even if my mind immediately turns to lying, it actually serves me better to stay honest. Also, I learned not to put Lexus's into ditches.

Thank you.
